When he’s not directing international advertising campaigns or inspiring designers, Carlos Caicedo has crafted his own story as an accomplished photographer and fine artist. His award-winning paintings and photographs have been shown in museums and art galleries across the globe. Most recently in 2019, his series “The magic world of paper” received a SILVER Award in 2019, and a GOLD in 2020 from the worldwide renown publication Graphis. And in 2019 his photography of pencils won a Gold award at Trierenberg Super Circuit in Linz, Austria. One of his latest works features a multi-award wining animated short video based on his pencils, called “Doodle”, produced with a team led by his son Mo Caicedo.
The three-time David Ogilvy Award Winner knows the power behind a compelling story. After all, he did begin his graphic design and advertising career as a writer. Born in Colombia, Carlos studied the humanities before finding his calling in design and photography. He has made The United States his second home since 1981. Through honest, authentic visuals and his ability to speak both to the heart and the mind, Carlos creates narratives that make meaningful connections with his multiple audiences.
