Lori was born and raised in the quirky 70’s and 80’s in Omaha, Nebraska. She received a BFA in painting from the state university, where the main mode of teaching was “keep going” or “stop”. She then married and moved to New York to begin a grand life plan. There she attended Hunter College taking classes with some famous people and graduating with an MFA in painting. Facing a divorce, disappointment, fear, and far too many people on a daily basis, she returned to Omaha to open a gallery. Lori met someone new and took a left turn into sustainable, local food for about a decade; including time as a Local Forager for a major grocer and organizing an outdoor local food feast for 500 with ten chefs.  She continued to teach, make and show art as well and later went back to school for an MPA in Nonprofit Management, still with an eye to opening a gallery or museum work. (Notice the theme of never trusting just making work to live). After many years in the nonprofit world and a couple of bad bouts of burnout, Lori is gratefully working in a gorgeous studio and as a nonprofit consultant. As a now single mom of a younger teen who is homeschooling, life thankfully revolves around a great deal of creativity. Lori is juggling it all, often badly. At the moment, she is looking into even more education in the UK while attempting to make art her livelihood. Lori is developing an expanded online presence with an improved website, store, newsletter, Patreon, and other projects. She would like to tell the universe that yes, she is ready for that abundant wealth, supportive relationship, physical health, and peace of mind it has been promising on social media.
