Ber Lazarus was born in a small town near a Carolinian forest in southern Ontario and then spent his early formative years in the north of the same province with deep boreal forests and muskeg as his back yard. Being an avid wilderness canoeist and back woods cross-country skier nature has played an important role throughout his life. This love of the outdoors is reflected in the work you see in this collection. Lazarus eventually settled in Montreal where he completed a BFA (honours) in Studio Art with an emphasis in sculpture and contemporary aesthetics at Concordia University. In Montreal his work has been shown at the Maison de la culture Mercier, the Maison Beaudry in Pointe-aux-Trembles, le Centre des Gouverneurs in Sorel and many other private and public galleries. Most recently his work was in the Contemporary Venice group show and the Venice International Art fair in Venice, Italy. He is currently based in Ramat Gan, Israel.
