Kay Big Knife Design

Kaylene J. Big Knife is from the Chippewa Cree Tribe of the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation located in north-central Montana. She is a graphic designer and a digital illustrator with a love for comic art, museums, storybooks, and Indigenous language revitalization. Big Knife received an associate’s degree in Interactive Graphic Design from the Institute of American Indian Arts, a bachelor’s degree in Native American Studies from the University of Montana – Missoula, and a master’s degree in Native American Languages and Linguistics from the University of Arizona. Big Knife currently resides in the beautiful landscape of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where she continues to pursue her creative projects. Her previous design clients include Xbox, PBS, Buffalo Jump Records, Young Spirit Supplies, Fawn Wood, Sullivan Squad, Northern Cree, Stone Child College, House of the Moon, Cora Kay Productions, Stunt Puppy, American Indian Language Development Institute, Indigenous Comic Con (now known as IndigiPop X), C.M. Russell Museum, the University of Montana – Missoula, and the University of Idaho.
