Phoebe Legere is a multi-disciplinary artist who paints in oils, ink, experimental media, resin, egg tempera, and sound.
Legere's intricate detail and bold colors vibrate between abstraction and representation/ male and female/spectacle and solitude/child and adult/sound and vision/science and spirituality.
Legere’s works inspire conversations about women’s issues, diversity, inclusiveness, cultural equity, Native American issues, the environment, and the volatility of consciousness.
Legere has had a life filled with experiences – from opening for David Bowie on his Sound & Vision tour (1991) to her groundbreaking work in multi-disciplinary experimental art.
Legere is National Director of the Foundation for New American Art, a nonprofit that brings free art lessons to the children of low-income BIPOC communities that have no art or music in their schools. All proceeds from sales of Legere’s art, fashion and music go to her favorite charity: Foundation for New American Art.
